Good evening! Tomorrow’s Friday and I couldn’t be happier for it. Does anyone else who works a desk job, Monday through Friday 8-5, love Friday as much as I do?!? This weekend we have some fun plans on the schedule: Saturday Noah and I will be running 9-10 miles as our long run in preparation for the half marathon we have coming up on April 27th. Then we’re heading down to Detroit to hang with our dear friends Joanne and Travis, eat dinner at Roast (a Michael Symon restaurant – Woot! Woot!), then Sunday Joanne, Noah, my other best friend Emily, her sister Lisa, and I are running the Cocoa Classic 5k in Downtown Detroit. Should be an awesome weekend!
After work today Noah and I ran a quick 1.5 miles just to say we did a run. I had a headache and wasn’t really feelin’ it but at least we got out there, I suppose.
What I was super excited for was dinner – pizza burgers! I had never had them before and kind of thought it was a semi-original idea, but lo and behold there were a ton of recipes and pins on Pinterest for Pizza Burgers (figures!). Anyway these were delicious! We made turkey burgers seasoned with basil, oregano, parsley, dried minced onion, garlic powder, paprika, season salt, pepper, olive oil, and red wine vinegar. The burgers themselves had a great flavor. For the pizza toppings I had sauce, black olives, banana peppers, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni; Noah added onions and peppers to his. I thought these were excellent and certainly did not disappoint – something different and came together very easily. Noah said they reminded him of meatloaf, and I get it due to the tomato sauce, but I’m sticking with pizza burgers!
Once the burgers were cooked and all the toppings in place, we put them under the broiler for about 5 minutes – just watched them until the cheese was melted and starting to get golden brown.
We also had roasted green beans – these too were excellent! Just some garlic powder, happy salt, pepper, olive oil, and parmesan cheese. Bake at 400 for about 15 minutes and deliciousness!
We then binge watched 3 episodes of Sons of Anarchy to finish off Season 3. Agent Stahl also got finished off at the end of the season finale, so I was satisfied with that 🙂 That lady was really starting to get to me, glad she’s off the show! Can’t wait to start Season 4 – but it’ll have to wait until next week probably as we’ve got many more fun things planned in the meantime.
TGIF manana! Good night!
